Anoma not for the West, but for the whole country
The Former Army Commander Mr. Sarath Fonseka's Democratic Party (DP) is thinking of not presenting Ms. Anoma Fonseka as a Western Provincial Council Chief Minister Candidate but in directly putting her in the Presidential run, reports say.

It is said that the deputy leader of the Democratic Party MP Jayantha Ketagoda has requested some UNP MPs to give their support in presenting Ms. Fonseka as the Common Candidate of the opposition.
The Party's opinion has been that although Ms. Fonseka gets elected to the WPC, still it would not be sufficient for her to become the CM. Thus it is said that the DP is intending to introduce her to the Presidential polls with the consent of other opposition parties as the Common Candidate.
The possibility of the UNP being breaking into factions when they try to select a Presidential candidate, too has been taken into account.
It is also reported that 2 media channels and some Nayaka theros have promised to give their full support if Ms. Fonseka contests in the Presidential polls.
