Popular Sri Lankan hip-hop artist and music producer Iraj Weeraratne has been nominated for three awards at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards which will take place in Hollywood, California later this month.

Weeraratne has been nominated in the song and video categories including for the video "Lion nation" which was used as a promotional track for the Sri Lankan cricket team during the last cricket world cup.

"I am indeed honored to be able to represent my country at the awards. But this is only the beginning. And I assure you bigger accomplishments are yet to come," Iraj told Xinhua.

Some of the other nominees at the Hollywood awards ceremony alongside Iraj include John Powell for the movie Rio and Patrick Doyle for the movie Thor.

Iraj, had meanwhile also made it to a radio compilation CD issued in the U.S. The track 'Your Love' by Iraj and Markia featuring Bangladeshi star Kona is on the October music Radio Express compilation which also features tracks by international acts like Lady Gaga, David Guetta, T-Pain, Enrique Iglesias, Coldplay and more.
