Sri Lanka has appointed Geoff Marsh as the new National Head Coach of the Sri Lanka Cricket Team, SLC said a short while ago. Marsh is a former Australian Cricketer who has played 50 tests and 119 ODI’s for his country.
He was a member of the victorious World Cup winning team of 1987. He is an Australian Level 3 qualified Coach and coached the Australian team from 1995 to 1999 including the World Cup winning team of 1999.
Subsequently, he was Coach of the Zimbabwe National Team from 2000 to 2004. He has also been a National Selector of the Australian Team. With his vast coaching and playing experience at the highest levels, Sri Lanka Cricket is confident that he would be an ideal choice for the post of Sri Lanka National Team Head Coach.
He will take up duties on September 27 on a 2 year contract.
