Abusive remarks on CJ expunged from records
All abusive remarks made on Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake by ruling party members of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) that probed charges against her have been expunged from the records, the United National Party (UNP) charged today. UNP MP Ajith P Perera, who addressed a news conference referred to the statement made by Minister Anura Yapa, the Chairman of the now defunct select committee that everything which transpired had been recorded in the report, said this statement was misleading. He said that even abuses hurled against the members of the opposition are expunged from records and therefore not recorded in the Hansard and asserted that the same was used during the recordings of the PSC proceedings.
